Joe. There are some books on CNC but they seem to be aimed at
commercial machines or they are focused on the hand generation of g-
code. While I think it's important that every HSCNC person have at
least an elementary understanding of g-code, you can actually build a
machine, draw a part, run it through a CAM operation and cut it
without ever having to look at the underlying machine code.

It looks like a lot to learn (and it is) but it's like auto
mechanics. You just learn the basic physics then start learning the
individual components and how they fit into the equation.

You can probably hang around this list and the DIY-CNC list and learn
as much or more than what a book would teach you. This list MUST
work because there are guys here that have never built anything CNC
and they are experts! =(;-0
