It really all depends on the machine.

If your machine is capable of some degree when used by hand, the CNC
should do that degree also. If there is slop,play,backlash... it
will be in the CNC too.

Theoreticaly you can got to no error. but check your encoder. that
will break up your steps per revolution.

the higher number of steps per revolution, the higher the sensitivity
and hopefully the accuracy.

The trade off is that more steps means a slower high speed rapids.

Mostly, accuracy is dependant on the parts of the machine. it can
only be as accurate as the most inaccurate part, or the combination
of all the errors.
