I think we can discuss the topic of how the person that asked about
making profit from a machine would design, build and program a
machine that had the potential to turn out work equal to or better
than a much more expensive commercial machine. On this list we don't
go into what the use of the machine is but more how to take the vast
amount of available information, hobby level hardware and software
and build your own machine. In and of itself it is a fantastic
endever.
First you start out deciding what you want to make and the
working "envelope" (biggest pieces you will be cutting) and then get
into motion methods, drive types, accuracy, speeds, CAD software, CAM
software and anything about building the machine.
How's that for pulling things back from the brink of OT?
