Graham, can you beat that for a quick answer to your question? It
does work real well. I used a 3 flute tap because the core diameter
is larger than on a 4 flute, and the tool was plenty stiff when held
in a collet chuck as short as practical and yet long enough to reach
the bottom of the hole.
