From what I read, you said to use either:

1) a single-throw, double-pole switch

OR

2) a double-pole double-throw switch(and just don't use one of the poles)

I can't see how situation 1) would work at all. Can you tell me how you
would hook it up?

And situation 2), a DPDT switch on which you use only 1 pole, is a SPDT
switch. Again, I can't see how this would work.

Maybe you're typin' too fast(or maybe I don't know what I'm talkin' about)
