Yeah, I tried it a year and a half ago. It's junk. I notice the ad says its a new design although no where does it mention PWM or chopper. The absence of any heatsinks right up front will tell one there is something not right. Stepper drives hexfets are always on heat sinks. The ad claims it will handle 50 volts and 10 amps however, I put 12 volts and 6 amps through it and it fried. Its an L/R system and not a chopper system. Which meant my motors would hold position ok but traversing was a joke, I could've blew on the table and stopped it. I had to fight with him to get HALF of my $250 back. He said I needed a bunch of resistors and fans on my motors (what?). He also suggested I use two separate power supplies and switch back and forth between them with M-codes in the software(come again). After two weeks of him trying to convince me that I didnt know what the h I was taking about he E-mails me and says he is designing a new chopper style board and he'd give me a discount on one
in lieu of a refund. And to get a refund of half the purchase price, I had to agree to leave him a "positive" feedback. Avoid it, there are much better alternatives available for approximately the same money. Jon told me "its a shame you paid so much for 30 year old technology". I will say this though, Nothing wrong with his workmanship. The board looks perfect, unfortunately it will not work for CNC machines. It might now but, it definitely didn't then. I dont know what it would be good for??
