I do not have any info on that motor, but I have 5 phase
drives that I use now. Those 500 step motors require
special drivers, and will be hard to come by surplus.
they will however give you similar performance to a
micro-stepping drive package.

Terry and others,

While you have your VEXTA data on hand, can you help me
with the following:

I picked up a stepper motor at a hamfest. Need info
on voltage, amperage, hookup, etc.. Label says:

VEXTA
Model UPH599A
5 phase (it has 5 wires)(hook-up?)
0.72 degrees/step
SS6-00637

The motor is about 3" dia x 4" long with a 3/8" shaft.
