Bill: As I don't HAVE one of those Sherline mills, it is irresponsible for
me to comment, but if I'm right that they are "Unimat-sized milling
machines", i.e., just about the smallest little mills one can get, I would
still say "no" to your question. That size of motor is about right for a
fairly-hefty plotter, maybe, but I think a bit smallish/low-torque for any
kind of metal-cutting machine, especially if "direct". Those are, as you
probably realize, 400 steps/turn. I have a tiny plotter with those on it,
but I have no clue if the "same size" 400-step motor is near the same torque
as one with only the usual 200 steps/turn.

BUT... I may be all-wrong, and it might work fine, and plunge a 1/2"
ball-end into 4130, 3/4" deep! (kidding!).
