Thank you very much for your help, particularly Anders who sent me some
good stuff.
I am considering a retrofit project on a large Yasda milling machine
which is presently running on ancient Fanuc30 and "electrohydraulic
pulse motors"
I've had them stripped apart on the bench and i can see it would be easy
to throw the electro (5-phase) part away and put servos or "normal"
steppers in.
The owners of the machine have asked me if the existing motion control
can be retained and the new (EMC) control set up in parallel, to
minimise downtime.
When I look at the half-stepping sequence as shown in the pdf it is
19, 17, 25, 28, 12, 14, 6, 7, 3
or it could be expressed as increments and decrements like so
-2, +8, +3, -16, +2, -8, +1, -4
how would one implement such a pattern in hard-wired logic?
