SV: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] 5-Phase steppers

The more modern 5 phase steppers (!) are better. They are stronger for
the size than 2 phase, they have more resolution and are smoother in
movement. The problem is drivers. There are not many available. I have
some myself, and they are 120 V types (meaning they use 120 V out to the
motors to make the curent rise faster than normal 20-40 V types) and
have microstepping to 80 micro-steps / step. They are good, but also
expensive!
Have a look here: http://www.tamagawa-seiki.com/pdfe/1596n1e.pdf
