Fortunately, accuracy is not a massive concern here, as all the plating is
only used decoratively. It's for goth/metaller/alternative jewellery: ie>
plating on wrist-bands and leather collars (skulls/ankhs that sort of
thing). So sub-micron accuracy would go unnapreciated.
I think we can spend around $1000-2000.. Which kind of limits putting a
laser/waterjet/or plasma cutter on it, unless someone can find me a waay
cheap metal-cutting laser and lens. Plasma is out of the question as the
edges would take too long to clean-up. I have an old Sherline head belted up
at 10,000RPM I may just put in for her, but I was wondering if anyone had
workable suggestions on some type of spindle for this thing/or cooling?

How accurate to the parts need to be? To be honest this sounds like
laser or plasma cutter territory. 0.5mm S/S would be a complete
nightmare to machine.
