Dear Chris,

10,000 or maybe 12,000 is probably OK but 22,000 is too much. I have
been interested in this problem for a long time. Larger capacitors put
additional stress on several components--most seriously on the
transformer--which is, after all, the most expensive component in the
power supply. The exact technical reasons are very interesting to me
but this is not the place to discuss them.
