years 5 days a week in a job shop running up to to 4 machines at a
time ( it just sits in the corner running all day long) .
If yours is not starting there are 2 ways to go , try increasing or
decreasing the total uf , this will usually do it but it all depends on
the idler motor .
The other is to put a round 2 to 3" flange on the motor shaft then you
can flip the switch to start the motor and use your foot to give the
flange a bit of a spin and the motor is running ,. You can leave it on
most of the day as it draws almost no power until you turn on a machine .
PS. I think they over state the size of idler motor needed , I run a
shop with ,1 mill 3 hp , 1 lathe 1 hp , 1 surface grinder 1 hp , 1 tool
and cutter grinder 1 hp, and there have been times when all were running
at the same time , and my 3 phase generator motor is only a 2 hp. OLD
large frame motor.
