Hello Kev,
Sorry you had difficulty with the U.S. to U.K. plans transition.
Actually there are so many aluminum extrusions and they fall out of
favor often enough that I, here in California, might not be able to
build the thing either.
How do you plan to build the CNC router?
If you have access to a mill and lathe I can send you a set of plans
for free which were done some time ago by a fellow in (I think) Japan.
The design uses common mechanical engineering components, with milled
aluminum plates. I'm sure you could change the concept to other
materials though.
The drawings I have are .DXF, but I can convert them to a graphic
format if you need. This is a very fine professional design, and can
be reworked to suit local materials and requirements.
The design is metric, but to reverse the problem of compatibility, I
converted them to English units so it would be easer to get parts
here in the U.S. of A.(Weird when you consider that the U.S. Congress
adopted the metric system in the 19th century, but we are still using
the old English system for just about everything).
In any case, if this is of interest, I'll dig back through some old
floppy disks (that gives you an idea of how long ago the design was
done) and find the files.
