SINKING
GRAPHITE FOR COMPLEX FORMS AND LARGE ELECTRODES
COPPER FOR SPEED
TUNGSTEN COPPER FOR GEOMETRY
HOLE DRILLING IS GENERALLY PRECISION COPPER TUBE
WIRE
BRASS IS GENERALLY USED POSSIBLY BECAUSE COPPER IS TOO SOFT
HARDENED BRASS IS USED FOR ADDITIONAL PRECISION AS THE WIRE BOWS
LESS WHEN CORNERING
0.25mm IS THE DIAMETER FOR BEST OVERALL PERFORMANCE
ZINC COATED BRASS IS USED FOR ADDITIONAL SPEED AS THE ZINC IS
IGNITED IN THE PLASMA AND ADDS ADDITIONAL ENERGY TO THE SPARK
SMALL DIAMETER WIRES ARE ONLY USED FOR SPECIAL APPLICATIONS ALSO THE
SAME APPLIES FOR TUNGSTEN WIRES
OTHER
FLUSHING IS CRITICAL --- SPARK GENERATION CANNOT TAKE PLACE UNLESS
THE DEBRIS IS CLEARED. THIS IS CRITICAL FOR HOLE DRILLING
