The best thing to do is keep your eyes open. In the case of the Milltronics
I've been working on, the controller was dead and obsolete. The company who
owned it basically said "take it away and it's yours." It's a big old
machine, but for $550 in moving expenses another $1300 for STG board and
misc. connectors and some time invested in hooking it all up, it isn't a bad
deal. And we'll set it up to do light production work and it will probably
last forever - I hope. (Now if I can only glue the hair back in, that I
pulled out trying to get EMC to work!)
