There was an article in one of the HSM or sister magazines about
converting the downfeed on a round cxolumn mill-drill to use a
battery powered screwdriver I believe. This was not recent.. I
should have the magazine but searching might take a while. Online
index doesn't seem to help but that may just be me. Since this
seemed to have worked you shouldn't have a problem with a stepper
motor. I will hunt for it but don't hold your breath too long.
