Out of interest and (morbid? ;) ) curiosity how much material will you
be able to take off per pass? Or to put it another way how many
passes do you see yourself doing?

Would it be possible to rough with a grinding tool (something along
the lines of a diamond burr in a high speed spindle) and then turn for
the final(ish) finish?

Sounds crazy, I like it.

I'll also be interested to here about the polymer concrete base, very
interesting!
