It's clear that Vector can draw in lathe coordinate mode, as you
requested, and it's flexible enough that it can be done without
changing the basic program, or curtailing any of the other
functionality. A couple of minor changes would also make it fairly
transparent for lathe only use.
Fred, You get no argument with me about what Vector can do, and I am also in
total awe of your ability with Vector. But it is "your" ability that allows
you to do it, not the average users ability. Especially a beginner hobbyist.
That being said, for many beginners like myself, it is hard (impossible) to
do what you can do with Vector.
I think that your suggested Lathe "minor changes," to make it transparent
would make Vector a lot greater program. This way the user would have the
choice to use it the way he wants.
Click NEW, click Lathe, select drawing size, and away you go, now that would
be transparent, change sequence slightly if necessary.....
Include the ability to input stock size, or a casting shape that the Cam
will work with.
Three clicks maximum to draw in Lathe mode........... Then make CAM, just as
transparent.
IMHO

PS, I have always appreciated the help you have given to the CCED group,
with your support, and help in non CAD/cam, help also.
