They can be cut with a 4-axis mill with the 4th axis set at an angle I
think. Or a wire EDM with rotary spindle.

I was really desperate for a coupling one day and tried to make a
helical one with a rasor saw out of delrin, not recommended, might
work but you would have to mark it out better than I did.
