There are a few problems with using the EMC to control stepper systems that
run at high speed. The machine in the picture would only rapid at 54 ipm
reliably, and with .00025" steps that works out to a step frequency of 3600
Hz. In retrospect (and that's the only way I can look at this machine as I
sold it and the new owner is happy with it), I might have wired the motors
differently and gotten better performance.
