the circuit schematic i posted converts quadrature to
'4 times the pulses!!' with a couple 10 cent chips any
high school kid can look up and make perfect sense of,
pull and replace, duplicate at will for anything else
he wants....
that's one way to get the result.
another way is to dedicate a microprocessor with a
quarter million gates or so to do the work of 8 gates.
this means you need to know how to program a pic- and
yu need a programmer for it. so it requires additional
infrastructure and study to be able to replace 8 gates
with 250,000. however, once yu Have accomplished that,
you now have a device that costs more and that a
normal user can not understand, repair or replace.
