What I was pointing out is you only need a converter large enough to start
your largest load. As you add motors to the load, they add capacity to start
other loads. If you have a 5hp converter and then you start a 3hp motor, you
should then be able to start a 7 1/2 hp motor as long as your mains can
supply the current.
