Dave,
For stepper motor drivers you should have a 5A fuse in line from the power
supply for each drive.
Reversing the ground and hot leads (pins 1 and 2) will surly burn up a Gecko
before a fuse will blow.
I also use a 15 amp circuit breaker before my power supply. If you will
look at my web page for my enclosure, I have a complete wiring diagram. The
wiring diagram may help others.
