wire for motor ?

Hi all,
I used a db9 connector for an connector on my SLA7062 driver. I hope
to use 34 volts and up to 3 amps.
I was hoping to also use a store bought db9 cable. Unfortunatly,
they seem to not have any wire ga listed (wadda-ya want for $1.99)
but it seems that 28ga is common.
The question is about wire rating.
how do you rate wire when using a stepper that has a chopper or PWM
circuit ?
If the motor is 3 volts and 3 amps, is the total wire wattage 9 watts ?
Dave
