EASY RULE OF THUMB
FOR C.R.S. 1020
DRILL SPEED 1/2 IN DIA DRILL = .500 RUN AT 500RPM
THEN 1/2 THE SIZE RUNS TWICE AS FAST OR 1/4 DIA AT 1000 RPM
THEN 1/2 THAT SIZE RUNS TWICE AS FAST OR 1/8 DIA AT 2000 RPM
AND SO ON
THE SAME WAY WITH LARGER DRILLS
THEN TWICE THE SIZE RUNS HALF AS FAST
AND SO ON
CHIP LOAD SHOULD BE .005 PER FLUTE ON I/2 DIA DRILL
GREATER ON LARGER DRILL AND LESS ON SMALLER DRILL
I SAID THIS WAS A RULE OF THUMB NO MORE
