J & L has finally posted it on-line and it can be acessed at no
charge.

Page 2017 is a one page guide to drilling tapping and reaming with
HSS tools in 30-40 different materials.

The rest of the guide is also a wealth of info for the inexperienced
machinists and those without ready access to calculation software or
a Machinery's Handbook.

For calculation software, I have found ME consultant to be one of the
best available. The freeware versions seem to have disappeared from
the web, but we distributed a copy on Vector CD's in the past.
