It might be worthwhile to talk to an applications engineer about
derating a larger 3 phase drive to run on single phase. I'm not up to
speed on the most recent drive technology but one issue is or was the
lack of capacity in the rectification to DC and the filtering. In
other words the 3 phase rectifier is rated at a lower current than would
be required in a single phase application.

I suppose one could hack a drive also. I'm not to sure the
manufactures are free enough with the info to allow that to happen easily.
