I have been watching you guys discuss this and I had to throw in some
real world experience .
My entire shop is running off of VFDs all of them were intended for 3
phase input but are only getting single phase 240 and they are all doing
great ! ( I do have one running 460 Volts )
I have 5 of them in the shop that ALL came from eBay and are all
different brands and types , none of them cost me more than $100 .

PS. several run at max nameplate output for short times with no trouble .
I don't deal in theory , this is real world results .
