That is not actually what he says, I quote:

"Rule #1: If you need 100 Watts or less, use a step motor. If you need
200 Watts or more, you must use a servo. In between, either will do."

Our USA made Globe servo motors are sized and geared to run small mills
like the Taig and Sherline with 20 pitch screws at 45 ipm. They are
also appropriate for small CNC routers with less than 1 HP spindles,
and up to about 30 x 30 tables. Our Servo Drives are 5amps at 30
volts. Thousands of each are in use worldwide because our drives are
inexpensive and durable and because we have inexpensive, plug and play
cabling.
