Hi Jon,
My comment was more of a general one. I thought more mass meant more rigidity
and less vibration. As to Asian machines you probably need to sight them to
asses their quality.
I have an Asian 'CNC Ready' lathe that has ball screws. It is my first
experience with them but these screw are 'rough as guts'. I'm hoping that they
will wear in after I get it going. If you leave it sit for a few weeks, it
appears that there is an indent left when you go to move it by hand.
BTW, I have a Taig mill. It's a beautiful machine.
Cheers,
Peter.
