Nicely put. As long as new users understand these concepts I think
its fine however I get the impression that some think that the steps
really do just get lost out of carelessness or something and I'm
seeing a lot of people wanting steppers and encoders because they
believe its a common occurrence.

Unlike seatbelts when something goes wrong you don't loose your life
you loose a part or cutter if you hit a fixture. It will all depend
on how much you have invested in the part.
