I'm running Debian 2.0.36 for a kernel and whichever X release comes with it.

With any new monitor I plan on spending an afternoon getting X up and running. On some of these monitors one can peel off the case
and see who the OEM is. ie. mine says HP on the outside but is a Hitachi. There is a lot of help in the HOWTO-timings.html that
come with the release.

Once you get a modeline that works you back it up, write it down, etc. and keep it someplace safe( VERY safe).
