Oh, that hurts! I was a DEC product manager in the workstation group
when that monitor was introduced, and it was a very high quality and
expensive monitor. The special graphics card was an amazing high
performance graphics subsystem jointly designed by DEC and Evans and
Sutherland. It did anti-aliased lines at over 1,000,000 vectors per
second and solid, shaded images all in hardware. A technical gem, a
market bust.

But you are right, it is now junk.

One of the things that drives me crazy is old computer stuff- we all
love those old cast iron machines, and often older is better, but in
computers older is junk.
