I was thinking along the same lines. If the rod was in line with the travel
then the geometry could be corrected where the wire is turned through 90 deg
on each end, either with a floating guide or by allowing the rod to travel
along its axis. Having both the rod and guide rollers fixed and having the
guide rollers placed at the point where travel ends may allow the geometry to
equal out but I don't think it adds up.
Something kind of along the same lines as a cheap alternative to ballscrews
could be to use a short wire loop wrapped on threaded bar with 2 rollers to
loop it back around. I have no idea where to get a short loop of wire that
doesn't have a lump where the ends join though. Anyone?
cheers

BTW, is it my email or did everyone just receive this?
