If you take a fixed roller, in this discussion, it has been an ACME
threaded rod.

lay a straight edge parallel to the thread pitch and then mark the
machine at one end. somewhere off center to one side.

move the straight edge about 10 threads and put a mark on the opposite
end of the table, again in line with the angle of the thread.

now, as the wire wraps around the screw, the screw moves, exactly in
line so the wire angle never changes.

This is the easiest way to accomplish a wire drive.

The two ways we have not discussed are more complicated.

One is to use a fixed thread so as the screw moves. The wire would
always be parallel to the machine as the point it enters and exits the
screw would remain constant. the screw would move and possibly create
a wear and backlash. needs some good threads so eleminate backlash.

the third way is a bit more difficult. put, say 5 rollers on a shaft.
put 5 rollers on a second shaft. one shaft spins free, the other is
driven. the wire goes from shaft A to B to A to B to A and so on back
and forth. this method also keeps the wire parallel.

Depending on you skills at any of the styles, depends on which is
easiest for you.
