This goes way back, but around 1985 I connected the original 62k IBM PC to my Bridgeport R2E4 Boss 9 CNC milling machine. I was just starting out in business. I ran off the RS232 port to a breakout box and then to the round connector of the CNC miller. There were only 4 significant pins on the round connector. Data in, data out and two grounds.
At the computer end I had a Asychonous Communications manual for the IBM PC. The data in and out lines I aligned and the grounds. That left permanent high and low voltage lines to answer the computers own programming. Like the "host are you ready" wire got answered by it's own high voltage line. There may have been one or two more like that. then on the software I had to answer questions like, "host Echoing", and "end line character". stuff like that. I still have one of these setups around here.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I took a look at their documentation and it looks like it has
just a single input, J5. I'll have to see if someone confirms
that I can wire-or all the G3x0 ERR pins into a single connector.
