Also, due to the real time nature of CNC control, this is unlikely to work
properly. You should try running a latency test! I don't know if there is
one in Mach, but there's a utility that's part of EMC2 just for this. It
dials in the settings to minimize problems.

Just use EMC2. Works great, native Ubuntu, and, best of all, it's free! If
you don't like it, you haven't lost anything. Mach is a great program,
don't get me wrong, but EMC is there too!
