You don't want the twisting to be "minimal" which would require a "maximal" shaft diameter (i.e. infinite).
You merely want the twisting to be reduced below a certain level, which you would have to calculate based on estimated forces (since there is no tool contact, this would be entirely interial forces caused by acceleration) and desired positional accuracy.
