Hi Glen,

Cost under $500.00 for the capabilities of 4 axis simultaneous milling would be a dream come true for you and the rest of us. I don't know of any software that delivers that much for so little expense.

If the budget could be just a little bit more ($1000.00 - $2000.00) then maybe this would work: http://www.deskproto.com/features/essentials.htm. Please update the rest of us if this works well for you.

I do not sell this software and to the best of my knowledge no one in my family, pets, neighbors, extended
kin (past, present and future for 7 generations, have I forgotten anybody?) has any vested interest in your opportunity to make 4 axis items other than we all just hope it works well for you.

How's that for a disclaimer? :-)

Have a good day,

Jim Fleig

Thanks for the reply,
The cost would need to be under $500, and have a free trial period. I
want to machine aluminium and wood.
There seems to be many programs that can do this but the suppliers are
too embarrassed to advertise the price ( over $10,000 ). I thought maybe
there is an open source program that can do this ( Linux ok ).
I've seen an ad for a 3D scanner somewhere but I don't know how they
generate the Gcode from the scan.
If there is no software available, is there anywhere I can get a sample
Gcode with continuous 4 axis movements to test my machine with? (
machining something interesting like a head or car or something)

Thanks,
Glen.
