I mean, I understand the basic construction of a stepper etc, but am rookie

I can tell you that the MAE motors are made in Italy. They are good motors.
If you have a model number I can give you the specs.

ago (1990s) to a Centroid CNC4E. Seller claims works ok, except maybe the
MAE HY series motor on one axis needs repair/replacing. I don't find much
about this old of a Centroid Controller in my searching. Can anyone give me
some advice about it? Can I interface to MACH or is it more of a stand alone
