  It is a bit ugly, but you might just consider the rest of the motor as a
long bearing to hold the encoder, and leave it alone. That leaves a nice
cover over the encoder, the sensor block already properly mounted, and a
nice round housing ahead of it to clamp it by.
I still intend to try one of these motors directly on the sherline, as
soon a sI get time to try it. The mounting screws are metric, I picked
up a few the other day.
