WOW, I sure HOPE that is an extreme example! I don't do real
complicated stuff very often,
in fact I usually don't use a drawing to CAM method on my typical 2.5 D
stuff. I have some
small C programs that generate G-code from about 6-10 numerical entries
for simple
shapes such as rectangular cutouts or pockets, circular holes or
pockets, patterns of
drilled and tapped holes, etc. These are the typical features that I
machine into aluminum panels.
I can usually make these G-code files in a couple minutes
each, then use a text editor to combine them into one program.
