It's not-so-good to export for milling. Fine for 3D printing.
In milling, you may have a flat top surface and "well, obviously, an
endmill can blow through that with maximum Stepover."
Then you have a slight slope where you say "that's the same thing, I
don't care about scallops there" and then a small, complex shape and
"that's gotta be milled differently, it's a low-tolerance mating surface".
STL is just a mesh of triangles. As far as the project is concerned,
there is no project anymore, it's just one mesh. The surfaces don't
have a specific identity of "this is part of this curve and that is part
of that" where you can just click on it and get the entire surface.
