I think that is very true!   I think it is best to try to match your individual needs with software.
 
I had two issues when I went looking for CAD, price and function.   I found Rhino to be the best fit but Rhino isn't the best for everyone.   It was reccomended to me and I am thankful for that reccomendation. 
 
Support is also a big issue with me since I'm not a computer guru.    I found both Alibre and BobCAD to be high on sales pressure and low on support and the ability to listen to me.  I lucked out with support from McNeel & Assoc. which has been excellent.
