I am retired but for over 20 years I did CNC machinery installs, service,
maintainence, and design. I have yet to understand why anyone would
purchase BobCad, it is cumbersome, hasn't really improved with regard to
being user friendly over the years. I am not familiar with the newest
version but if they did what they have always done, it will simply be a
re-hash of earlier versions with no significant improvements. Their
so-called "post processing" is a total joke. I have several clients that
actually purchased BobCad/CAM. Because it was so difficult to use they
ended up purchasing Dolphin PartMaster, at my suggestion. There is NO
comparison between Dolphin and BobCad, Dolphin blows BobCad out of the water
and for similar costs. Dolphin has a TRUE post processor and it includes
the post processor editor so it is possible to write your own dedicated post
processor, not just change a few pre-determined parameters like BobCad
offers.
It has been several years since I used Dolphin but from what I see in their
newest versions they have kept up. For the price, I personally do not think
there is anything out there to compare to Dolphin.

About a month or two ago I posted on here asking for any advice on Dolphin
CAD/CAM. I didn't receive much feedback so just wanted to chime in quick.
For the past few years I tinkered with Bobcad, and never made it very far.
It claims the game, so unless I am a complete idiot, the software just
failed to produce much for me. A month after buying Dolphin, I must admit I
have gotten way further then what BCC allowed me to. They dont have the
rastor to vector which was nice, but outside of that I find it very nice and
easy.
