Dan, not sure what you mean. I only have 4 wires going to each motor. I was going to put the resistor across pins 1 and 5 in the hood when I add the DB9 to my cables. So the resistors will be very close to the controller-hope that's what you meant.

If you didn't find this little note some where in the manual... the
resistor Should go on the drive side of the motor cable. To me it
shouldn't make any difference but the experts say otherwise. I bought 2
pre wired motors with heavy cables, factory installed resistors on the
motor end plug. The 3rd motor I wired up with a close enough resistor
I had also on the motor end. The 2 factory motors get pretty dang hot
after about 30 min, my close enough was about where I thought they
should run temp wise, good and warm but not hot.
I plan on moving the resistors, just have not got around to it, all 3
work very well. I am very glad I sprang for the G540.
