Re: off topic : need patent help

sorry for the off topic thread guys.

the 'problem' with all phone manufactures, save apple is that the ONLY and one cannot stress that enough. The ONLY customers for Nokia are ATT, Verizon, Sprint, etc. the total of all nokia phone customers are able to be counted on one hand. worldwide, a few more.

Apple on the other hand has tens of millions of customers.

I spoke to a Nokia engineer once about an idea that would make the phones more useful. he said that unless he was directed by ATT or Sprint, he was not allowed to change anything. I added that more features would make the devise more functional. he countered that the only clients they have are the carriers. the carriers dictate.

Apple sells to the end user. they sell what the user wants and charge huge.

I would venture to say that the providers are totally against a multi function product that works well. if it was too good of a camera, you would not change your phone, and not buy a camera. if it were too good of an MP3 player, you would not buy an MP3 device. and, if it were a good PIM, one would not need that either.

the iPhone has user apps that make that device better at all those things.
