I spend a lot of time fiddling with Excel - though not for CAD stuff.

You've may have seen it, but here:
http://www.cuttingedgedata.com/cnc/GearCreate8f.xls is an Excel spreadsheet
to generate GCode for gears. Router & laser, works rather well.

If don't know if it ever got past v8; it used to be hosted on Geocities, and
Yahoo canned that a while back.

Mainly used for clock gears & the like.
