Hey Craig - I built two Prusa Mendels so far and I have a build log of my
first one here

and there's a bunch of stuff I've made if you look at the home page you'll
see most of it

the 3D modelling software can be whatever you want - I use Solidworks, but
some people are using OpenSCad - as long as your 3D program can output STL
files then you're good

after that all the other software is open source :)
